Meet the Instructors


Michelle Dorsey

OWNER/INSTRUCTOR

Michele Dorsey received her Pilates teacher training form The Pilates Center of Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from their rigorous certification program in 2000. After opening her own studio in 2000, she joined partners Pam Woodson and Susanne Staehr in opening The Pilates Place in 2001.

In 2007, Michele Dorsey was one of the first Pilates Instructors in the country to pass The Pilates Method Alliance comprehensive national certification, priorate the publication of their study guide, granting her “Gold Certified Pilates Instructor Certification”. Following 2 years of study, Michele completed her final certification in Level 1 GYROTONIC® training. In 2010 and 2013 Michele was invited to present Mat Classes for Pilates Instructors, attending the prestigious Pilates Method Alliance Annual Educational Conference (2010 Long Beach, CA and 2013 Fort Lauderdale, FL).

Michele’s passion is helping each client reach their personal physical potential by restoring innate healthy movement patterns, at any age, from adolescence to octogenarian.

Pam Woodson

OWNER/INSTRUCTOR

Pam Woodson moved to Jackson, Wyoming in 1984 after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Forestry. While a student in college she also danced and competed in women’s cross-country and track. After moving to Jackson, she began performing and teaching dance at Dancer’s Workshop, where she was a member of the Three Rivers Dance Company.

Her love of dance gave her many opportunities to perform in the Rocky Mountain Region and ultimately led her to Pilates. She also taught aerobics and weight training and was ACE and IDEA certified. In 1997, she was introduced to the Pilates Method. She entered the Pilates Teacher Training Program at The Pilates Center of Boulder, Colorado in 2000 and received her Certification in 2001.Pam joined partners Susanne Staehr and Michele Dorsey in opening their studio, The Pilates Place of Jackson Hole, in December 2001.

Pam has completed many continuing education courses and attended several Pilates Method Alliance Conferences, ultimately specializing in Pre and Post-Natal Pilates classes. Pam also taught Pilates in Europe at Cascina Papaveri in the Piemonte region of Italy. Pam is still a partner in the studio and although she no longer teaches Pilates, she truly believes that Pilates is life changing and can be used in all we do.

Jill Reich

INSTRUCTOR


Jill is a PMA Certified Pilates teacher and a graduate of the highly regarded The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. She completed her training in January 2000 and the Masters Program in 2013. She has also served as a Licensed Teacher Trainer and has taught Pilates overseas in Europe and India.


Jill is also a certified Level 3 Franklin Method® Movement Educator. She is currently one of only 50 other Level 3 teachers in the US. The Franklin Method® teaches us how our bodies move functionally using the art of imagery to connect the mind and the body to empower the individual in all ways of moving. Franklin Method® is a stand alone method and also works

well as a tool to teach Pilates more effectively.


Jill is also a Board Certified Massage Therapist and has been practicing for 30 years. She has studied Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, Thai Massage and Visceral Manipulation. She became interested in Pilates through her career as a bodyworker seeing Pilates as a sort of massage to the body through active movement. She has always taken an interest in health and the intricate workings of the human body and finds that her studies of how the body is aligned and moves works exceptionally well with the hands on skills of massage she has gained over the years.


Jill has a great passion to help facilitate healing and a sense of well being in the people she works with and approaches each Pilates lesson or massage with a high level of commitment. She combines all her knowledge to tailor an experience unique to the individual client. She especially likes to educate the people she works with to be better movers and to feel better in their bodies in order to enjoy life to the fullest.

Kim Armington

INSTRUCTOR

Kim has been a fitness instructor for over twenty years.  She has taught water aerobics, geriatric fitness classes, ice-skating, swimming, Parkinson’s specialty class, pre/post natal classes and a variety of workshops.  She has taught as adjunct faculty in the PE departments at Suomi college in Houghton, MI and Northland College in Ashland WI. She loves teaching because no day is ever the same and she is continually learning!  

She is in awe of what her students teach her every day!  She has been teaching Mat Pilates since 2005 and obtained her comprehensive certification from Balanced Body in 2011. Her last endeavor put her on the faculty at Balanced Body; she became a Master Teacher Trainer for the Anatomy in Three Dimensions course.She was a Physical Therapist Assistant for 13 years.  

The combination of Pilates and PT lead her into her specialties of Pre/post natal, Scoliosis and neurological conditions like MS and Parkinson’s.  She feels her forte is helping clients understand the details in the Pilates method.  She feels that magic happens to bodies in a Pilates studio whether you are fit or injured!Her passion and desired to make a difference in peoples lives comes from her own personal journey to recover mentally and physically from 4 years of constant pain.  The journey gave her the ability to come into each person’s life with compassion for their individual story and desire to make change in their life.  

She loves Pilates because she feels it’s “juicy” movement!  She does Pilates because at 60 years old she can still bike Shadow Mountain with her two boys, she can ski deeper and steeper than she ever thought she could and she can take on new sports like kite boarding with confidence and rip across Jackson Lake on a waterski. 

Tiffaney Mylott

INSTRUCTOR

Following graduation from University of San Diego, Tiffaney pursued certification in Yoga and Massage. Tiffaney was first introduced to Pilates while in physical therapy for disk degeneration and 2 herniated disks in her low back. 

After years of chronic pain she began to find a decrease in her symptoms eventually leading to a pain free spine and a passion to share this method with others. She attended The Pilates Center (TPC) in Boulder for her initial 1000 hour comprehensive classical Pilates teacher training. As well as recently graduating from their Masters Program she is also a host advisor for The Pilates Center, allowing her to mentor trainees through TPC’s rigorous educational programs.  

With a background in classical ballet, modern dance, and yoga she has always been drawn to movement. As well as being a Pilates Method Alliance certified teacher, her other trainings include a 300 hour yoga teacher training and a 900 hour massage therapy certification. Pulling from years of teaching yoga and doing massage therapy, Tiffaney brings a keen eye for alignment and noticing imbalances in the body and movement patterns. She is thrilled to be back in her hometown of Jackson to share this powerful method with others.

Tammy Tepper

INSTRUCTOR


Tammy Tepper lives in Ormond Beach, FL, with her husband, two sons and two dogs. Tammy discovered Pilates about 12 years ago while trying to find something that would help her back pain. She was immediately hooked by the Pilates method and eventually undertook the full  Stott Pilates Training Program.Tammy has now been teaching out of her own fully equipped home Pilates Studio for 10 years. In addition to her Stott Training,

Tammy is PMA Certified, Balanced Body Certified, has completed the “Passing the Torch” program with Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle, is trained in Yamuna Body Rolling and Healing Touch Training, and has studied Pilates for Neurological Conditions. Fortunately for us, Tammy discovered our studio during a ski trip to Jackson in January or 2019, and having recently enrolled in the Pilates Center Bridge program, she elected to spend part of this summer in Jackson, completing some of her Apprentice hours required by the TPC Certification program.

Tina Roberts

INSTRUCTOR

Tina grew up a competitive athlete, participating in a myriad of activities and has always enjoyed working with and coaching athletes.  She has a great interest in helping people move and feel better and is further pursuing this through physical therapy; she is in her second year at the Plymouth State University DPT program in New Hampshire but looks forward to returning to Jackson upon completion of the program.

Kristin Painter

INSTRUCTOR

Kristin enjoys teaching Pilates to people of all ages and abilities. She loves sharing the unique benefits of the Pilates method with all people.  Kristin is a compassionate teacher who develops a movement routine that addresses a clients individual needs.  Kristin has taken many continuing education courses throughout the years that focus on healthy movement for aging bodies, scoliosis, balance, shoulder girdle and hip mobility.  She completed classical Pilates training in 2010  at Streamline bodywork Pilates studio in Salt Lake City.   Kristin has lived in a yurt in Jackson since 1996 with her husband and teenage daughter.
