Pam Woodson enjoyed another busy summer at the studio, as well as a busy summer finding things to do for her son, Eric, after he broke his arm on Father's Day! (A big bummer for the start of summer!) She had several new clients that were so great to work with and hopes to see them again next summer. Since the fall is a slower time at our studio, Pam has accepted a part time position as Parish Life Coordinator at St. John's Episcopal Church. We know that you all join us in extending best wishes to her in this new venture.

Kristin Painter continues to work on her Master program through The Pilates Center in Boulder, Co. She has completed 66 hours of workshops and has 30 more to complete. In addition there is an additional 60 hours of formal lectures to complete as well. This program is helping her to evolve as a teacher and learn more precise teaching skills. We are so proud of Kristin and give her lots of encouragement and support as she continues with this rigorous advanced degree.

Marisol Sullivan was married to her sweetheart Josh in July on a family property in New Mexico. Due to the busy summer season for Exum Mountain Guides, Marisol was unable to spare any time for teaching Pilates, but she helped many people realize their dream of climbing the Grand and now she is back at University of Utah fulfilling her pre-requisites to apply for the Physical Therapy Program there. We wish Marisol and Josh all the best and cant wait to see them again next summer!

We are so thankful that Tina Roberts is still teaching with us and has begun her annual Ski Fitness Pilates Circuit classes in preparation for the winter season. Check our schedule for times for the morning ski fitness classes; it’s not too late to join the dedicated group of early risers preparing for another season on the slopes! Tina is once again coaching for the JH Ski Club and inspiring young skiers in their goals of advancing in competitive ski racing. Tina's father recently suffered a serious head injury sustained in a fall while hiking in the Colorado Rockies. Please join us in sending good healing energy and positive thoughts to Tina and her family!

This summer we were fortunate to have Kim Armington join our staff of instructors. Kim came to Jackson for the summer to deepen her understanding of the Pilates method by observing and teaching at the Studio. In addition she worked part time as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Four Pines PT.

Kim's summer adventure has now turned in to a full time lifestyle and she is once again making Jackson her permanent residence. Those of you who attended classes at the studio on Saturdays enjoyed Kim's precise and dedicated teaching in both Mat and Reformer classes. Kim obtained her comprehensive certification through Balance Body and has been teaching exercise classes since 1994. She has been a Physical Therapist Assistant since 2003. She has utilized the Pilates method to rehab herself and she finds that the results are like magic when used in the Physical Therapy world. She loves teaching the work, discovering new ideas and using the work to keep herself and her clients healthy and strong.

Hilary Smith is still in Jakarta, Indonesia and teaching Pilates there while exploring nearby Singapore and Bali. The studio in Jakarta has asked her to stay through December, although she is an “alternate” for Antarctica this season (so that could change last minute if she gets drawn for a position at the South Pole Station). Hilary met a local Jackson family during Spring Break in Thailand and learned to scuba dive last spring. She continues to take many continuing education courses for Pilates, GYROKINESIS®, massage and energy work which are offered in Asia. We hope to see her here soon!

Michele Dorsey is looking forward to attending the 14th Annual Pilates Method Alliance Educational Conference in San Diego next month. It is such a great opportunity to network with other instructors from around the world and to deepen her understanding of this fabulous method that has helped so many clients from all walks of life. In addition, she plans to continue her GYROTONIC® training and complete her certification in the Level 2 work on the Cobra Pulley-Tower in 2015.
