"The Shirt is great, I love it! I even wear it to bed. Everyone should be wearing one of these!"

"I read an article about the AlignMed Posture Shirt in USAToday, and due to long term low back issues, I immediately did research on both the product and the company. It seemed like a product that had great potential and the company seemed very reliable. After receiving and wearing my shirt for about a week, I began noticing a significant difference in my back pain - it was practically gone! I wear it for a couple of hours each day and am a total convert. This is a great product for anyone suffering from back pain, poor posture, and who just generally wants to improve their alignment. I highly recommend!"
-Ann Spencer, long time client of The Pilates Place

Pam Woodson, as so many of you know is working full time at St. John's Episcopal Church here in Jackson. Although she has maintained a few hours of teaching at the studio over the past year, this summer she will not teach a regular schedule (except for filling in a little bit when other instructors are away). We will miss her, but know that she will benefit from having a "real" day off each week and hope to see her for a few hours again in the studio in the fall.

Kristin Painter has reorganized her schedule for this summer to eliminate multiple driving trips back and forth between Town and the Aspens on a daily basis in the heavy summer traffic. She will be working at the Pilates Place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Kristin is offering several semi-private group sessions on the specialized Pilates Apparatus on Mondays, and in addition has added another Reformer class on Fridays at 11am. We now have 11am Reformer classes every day, Tuesday through Friday!

Kim Armington continues to help many patients at Four Pines Physical Therapy. Although she no longer teaches the Pilates Mat Class at the Senior Center, she does teach some private sessions at The Pilates Place. Kim is dedicated to helping people heal through the Pilates Method.

Tina Roberts had another amazing winter coaching our local ski team kids to successes on the snowy courses of the intermountain west. In addition she returned to Alaska and was having another stellar season there when she fell, near the end of her time there and suffered a severe break to one of her legs. Following a successful surgery here in Jackson she is working on her own rehab and phenomenal recovery while resuming her teaching at the studio. We wish Tina a quick and speedy recovery!

Hilary Smith has accepted a position as a Pilates Instructor at In Balance Pilates Studio in Sag Harbor (Hamptons), Long Island in New York. We wish her the best in this summer adventure. Clients here in Jackson will miss her, but the New York clients will benefit from her expert eye and supportive touch in teaching.

We are pleased and excited to welcome Jill Reich to our staff this summer. Some of you may remember that Jill taught a Franklin workshop at our studio last October. Jill is a PMA Certified Pilates Instructor and a 2000 graduate of the highly regarded Pilates Center of Boulder Colorado, as well as a 2013 graduate of The Pilates Center's Masters Program, authorizing her to train teachers of the Method. Jill is a nationally certified Massage Therapist with over 20 years of experience. She has studied NMT, Myofascial release, craniosacral and Thai massage.

Jill became interested in Pilates through her career as a massage therapist seeing Pilates as a massage to the body through active movement. She has always taken an interest in health and the intricate workings of the human body and finds that her studies of how the body is aligned and moves through the Pilates Method works hand in hand with the massage therapy skills she has gained over the years. In addition, Jill is one of only 50 Level 3 Franklin Method Instructors in the U.S. The Franklin Method teaches us how our bodies move functionally using the art of imagery to connect the mind and body to empower the individual in all ways of moving. The Franklin Method is a stand alone method and also works well as a tool to teach Pilates more effectively.
Jill has a great passion to help facilitate healing and a sense of well-being in the people she works with and approaches each Pilates lesson or massage with a high level of commitment. She combines all her knowledge to tailor an experience unique to the individual client. She will be teaching private Pilates sessions, group classes and private sessions in Franklin Method at our studio. In addition she will offer massage out-calls (in-home massage therapy).

"I attended only the Saturday morning session for shoulders/neck. As I walked out outside I had a wonderful awareness of myself in time and space. Each cell in my body felt awakened, alert, poised and ready for whatever the day may hold. A delightful surprise to discover this more subtle way of working with the body produced such an effect. Now to commit to doing some of the work independently and see if I can replicate some of the awareness I experienced from the class."
-Barbara Simms, Franklin® Method Workshop Attendee
